Portraits of Place- ‘Ag siu`l ar an talamh:’ are an experimental series of canvases. The tension between process and synaptic moment are a response to environmental degradation and encroachment.The pieces incorporate natural materials over a pigment-print base, creating a subtly altered image.
The ‘paint mediums’ include asphaltum, unprocessed beeswax, seaweed alginate, plant fiber, gum arabic, and earth pigments which are gathered from traditional sources, using sustainable practice.
