‘Ancient Iconographies’ is an illumination of the particular, the particulate. Megaanums beneath each footstep.

This series is inspired by ancient topographies laid bare, ever changing with the natural forces of wind and rain and time.

‍

On the margins of  Lake Otero and Alkali Flats of White Sands, fossilized tracks and the footprints of Pleistocene humans – the greatest concentration in the Americas, are exposed and just as quickly eroded.

‍

The Bisti hoodoos of the De Na Zin Wilderness are instantly recognizable: Less obvious is that this has been a cauldron over the ages: The geologic formations that are exposed in different areas of the park date back more than 70 million years.
